Baidoa, the heart of the Bay region, deserves peace, stability, and responsible leadership—not recurring cycles of conflict and political tension that harm innocent civilians and disrupt daily life.

The city and its people have often found themselves caught in struggles they did not choose. Instead of visionary leaders who prioritize the welfare of their communities, many residents feel they have been left at the mercy of political actors driven by personal ambition and short-term gains rather than long-term development and unity.

The youth of Baidoa, in particular, continue to bear the greatest burden. Their energy, potential, and future should be invested in education, employment, and nation-building. Instead, too many are exposed to instability that limits their opportunities and threatens their safety.

Leadership should be defined by compassion, foresight, and a deep sense of responsibility toward the people and the land. Unfortunately, Baidoa has too often been affected by leaders who appear more focused on political influence and material gain than on the wellbeing of their communities.

Baidoa does not lack resilience. Its people have consistently demonstrated patience, endurance, and a strong desire for peace. What is needed now is a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to prioritize reconciliation, stability, and development over division and conflict.

We pray that Allah brings lasting peace and stability to Baidoa, shields its people from harm, and guides its leaders toward wisdom, justice, and compassion.
