Friday, May 22, 2026 (Baidoa Online) -An explosion was heard across large parts of Jowhar tonight, raising concern among residents in the capital of Hirshabelle State.
According to local residents, the blast occurred near the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in the Horseed neighborhood, particularly around the Isnaay area, where units from the 3rd Brigade of the Somali National Army are reportedly stationed.
The exact nature of the explosion remains unclear, and there has been no immediate confirmation from security officials regarding whether the incident was caused by an explosive device, mortar fire, or an accidental detonation inside the military area.
