Friday, May 29, 2026 (Baidoa Online) -Reports emerging from central Somalia indicate continued military movements involving armed convoys that recently left Cadaado, passed through Godinlabe, and are reportedly heading toward Dhuusamareeb, the administrative capital of Galmudug State.

According to local sources , the troops are believed to be mobilizing in support of the Galmudug regional administration and its president, Ahmed Abdi Kaariye Qoorqoor. These claims suggest the forces are intended to reinforce the regional leadership amid rising political tensions.

At the same time, reports circulating online allege that the Federal Government of Somalia has deployed heavily armed units in and around Dhuusamareeb. These reports further claim the deployment may be linked to efforts to pressure or remove the Galmudug administration, although no official confirmation has been issued by federal authorities.

the developments would signal a significant escalation in tensions between Somalia’s federal government and the Galmudug regional state, particularly over control of security and political authority in central Somalia.

However, neither the Federal Government nor Galmudug State officials have publicly verified these claims, and the exact objectives of the troop movements remain unclear.

The situation in Dhuusamareeb and surrounding areas remains fluid, with heightened political uncertainty and security concerns reported across the region.
