According to local sources , the troops are believed to be mobilizing in support of the Galmudug regional administration and its president, Ahmed Abdi Kaariye Qoorqoor. These claims suggest the forces are intended to reinforce the regional leadership amid rising political tensions.
At the same time, reports circulating online allege that the Federal Government of Somalia has deployed heavily armed units in and around Dhuusamareeb.
