Monday , June 1, 2026 (Baidoa Online) -Air conditioning systems at Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport were reportedly out of service on Monday, leaving passengers and visitors to endure high temperatures inside the terminal, according to travelers and eyewitnesses.

Several passengers told local media that the outage created uncomfortable conditions in waiting areas, with many expressing frustration over what they described as a recurring problem at the country’s main international gateway.

“It was extremely hot inside the terminal, and many travelers were visibly uncomfortable while waiting for their flights,” one eyewitness said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

According to sources familiar with airport operations, similar technical failures have occurred on multiple occasions in recent months, raising concerns about the reliability of essential airport services. Passengers have questioned why the issue continues to recur despite previous complaints.

The airport is managed by Favouri LLC, a private company responsible for airport operations and services. Critics have accused the operator of failing to implement a long-term solution to repeated technical disruptions, although the company had not publicly commented on the latest incident at the time of publication.

The recurring service interruptions have renewed calls for stronger oversight, improved maintenance procedures, and greater accountability to ensure that passengers receive reliable services at one of Somalia’s busiest transportation hubs.

Airport authorities and the management company have yet to issue an official statement regarding the reported outage or provide a timeline for resolving the problem.
