Wednesday , May 27, 2026 (Baidoa Online) -Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi has issued strong remarks directed at Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, calling on both leaders to recognize and respect Somaliland’s position and maintain relations grounded in mutual respect and regional cooperation.
Speaking during a public address, President Ciro stressed that Somaliland seeks peaceful coexistence and constructive engagement with its neighbors, while defending what he described as Somaliland’s political identity and independence aspirations.
He also emphasized the importance of preserving stability in the Horn of Africa, warning against political tensions or actions that could undermine regional peace and diplomatic relations.
The remarks come amid ongoing political and diplomatic discussions in the region concerning Somalia’s federal system, regional influence, and Somaliland’s long-standing push for international recognition.
