Two women were injured after mortar shells struck residential areas in Mogadishu on Wednesday night, according to local residents.

In the Hodan district, a woman was seriously injured when a mortar shell landed near Luuq Canjeerada in the Taleex area. Witnesses told Baidoa Online that she sustained severe injuries in the blast and was rushed to a medical facility for treatment.

Meanwhile, in the Howlwadaag district, another woman was injured after a mortar shell struck her home. Residents said the explosion caused panic across the neighborhood, with fears of further attacks spreading among local communities.

The incidents come amid heightened security tensions in the Somali capital, where reports of mortar fire and armed confrontations have raised concerns among residents.
