Saturday, June 6, 2026 (Baidoa Online) - A large number of heavily armed security personnel have reportedly sealed off the Beexaani junction, located near the headquarters of Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in the Habar Khadiijo area of Mogadishu.

Preliminary reports indicate tensions between senior officials of the intelligence services and the military over ongoing weapons inspections targeting the homes of military officers and government officials residing in the Mirinaayo area.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the Chief of Defence Forces, General Odowaa Yusuf Rage, may be at the center of the dispute. However, this information has not been independently verified.

The latest developments come a day after a planned weapons display by police authorities at the Abdiaziz District Police Station was reportedly postponed following objections from Chief of Defence Forces General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud.

The situation remains fluid, and authorities have yet to issue an official statement. Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
