Wednesday , June 3, 2026 (Baidoa Online) -The Federal Government of Somalia has issued a strong statement condemning an armed incident that took place on Tuesday afternoon in the Howlwadaag District of Mogadishu, alleging that the attack was organized by former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire.

According to the government statement, the incident involved armed, masked militias who targeted a police station operated by the Howlwadaag District Police Force. The authorities claim that the armed groups were deployed the previous night and subsequently carried out coordinated attacks in the area.

The statement further alleges that the militias used heavy weapons and fired indiscriminately in residential neighborhoods, putting civilians at risk.

The Federal Government emphasized that it will not tolerate any actions that threaten the security of the capital, disrupt the operations of security forces, or create fear and instability among the public.

Security agencies have launched an official investigation into the incident and stated that legal action will be taken against anyone found responsible.

The government also expressed appreciation to the public for their cooperation with security forces and urged residents to continue supporting efforts aimed at maintaining peace and stability in Mogadishu.
