Monday , May 25, 2026 (Baidoa Online) -The Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Somalia has today approved the results of the local council and parliamentary elections in South West State, which were submitted by the National Independent Electoral Commission and the National Boundaries Commission.

The court’s endorsement follows the formal review of the election process and submitted results by the relevant national institutions.

However, several political figures had previously boycotted the elections, describing the process as invalid and not representative, and have rejected the outcome.

The situation reflects ongoing political disagreements surrounding the electoral process in the region.
