South West Security Minister Claims Pro-Laftagareen Forces Hit in Airstrike as Deadly Baidoa Attack Escalates Tensions

Thursday , May 14, 2026 (Baidoa Online) -The Minister of Security of South West State has claimed that the South West Darawiish forces loyal to President Abdiaziz Laftagareen were targeted in an airstrike, describing the forces as Al-Shabaab.

Reports further indicate that the aircraft involved in carrying out the strike departed from Mogadishu.

The statement comes after a deadly attack took place in Baidoa earlier today, in which some of the highest-ranking government officials stationed in the Bay region were killed.
